A DIFFERENT PICNIC
By Maria Adamopoulou B senior (2003-04)
It was a sunny, warm day of March when my family and I decided to go to the countryside. We prepared some food, we took our bikes and a ball and we started for our trip.
The route was wonderful! The trees were green and the flowers were colorful. The birds were singing and some people near the river were fishing.
When we arrived we found a nice place under a tree and we left our things. My father, my sister and I were playing with a ball while my mother was preparing our picnic.
Suddenly, we heard a loud shot and a cry of an animal. A few minutes later we saw a bear in front of us. I was very scared but I knew that I shouldn’t move. My father noticed some blood on the bear’s shoulder. He told us not to panic because the bear was wounded and it could not attack us. While it was lying on the grass, licking its wounds, my father telephoned the police and the “ARKTUROS” club, which helps animals in danger.
Finally, the police arrested the hunter, the doctors helped the bear and we were happy for our adventure in the countryside.
